THE National Youth Games' Manicaland chapter will officially launch its preparations for this year's edition of the multi-sport disciplined event today (Friday) at Wise Owl Motel.
The event starts at 10am.
The 10th edition of the National Youth Games will be held in the Mashonaland Central capital of Bindura.
The National Youth Games Manicaland Chapter has since restructured its Local Organising Committee as well as its terms of reference.
The latest set up, which will officially be made public during today's launch, is expected to work closely with several stakeholders that also include NAPH, NASH and sporting associations in spearheading preparations for this year's edition of the annual event.
The National Youth Games Manicaland Chapter general manager, Job Torindoh, confirmed today's launch.
Torindoh reiterated that the mandate of his local organising committee would be out to regain the confidence of all stakeholders including parents of children participating in the various sporting disciplines.
"We will have the official launch of the Games on Friday (today) where the Governor and Resident Minister, Chris Mushohwe will be the guest of honour. Once again, we also want to make a passionate appeal to the local business community to chip with any form of assistance that will make life easier for both the participants and the officials
"We are going ahead with the preparations of the National Youth Games and I am happy to announce that we have since restructured the entire system in order to give equal opportunities to all in Manicaland.
“It is not about Mutare and Mutare only. The athletes and officials have to be drawn from all the other corners of Manicaland province.
“It is also imperative that we note that we desperately need to regain the confidence of all stakeholders including the parents who give us their children to take part in these Games," said Torindoh.
