Christians should interpret the Bible correctly PDF Print E-mail

WHETHER Crispen T Masenhu is a Christian or a traditionalist, that can be debated, but his article in The Weekender of 29 June to 5 July 2012 can not remain unchallenged.
For while, he quoted the Bible in his article, his misinterpretations of the Holy book only served to perpetuate one of the devil's age old lies.
In as much as the mystery surrounding the ngozi issue is a puzzle to many, including the vast majority in Christianity today, only a careful examination of what the Bible teaches and a consistent reliance on a clear "thus saith the Lord", will enlighten us and free many from this mystery.
Crispen asserts that the story of Cain affirms the ngozi mystery, but that is not correct. A careful reading of the word of God will reveal that it was the blood of Abel that was crying out to God not the spirit of Abel. This is a call for justice. When a man dies, he will not continue to live. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 9 vs 5-6. "For the living know that they will; die but the dead know nothing.  And they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; never more will they have a share in anything done under the sun." NKJV
Crispen further said that a person is a unity of three parts the spirit, the body and soul, but the Bible says something to the contrary. Genesis 2 vs 7 say "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." So a human being was created by God, a unity of 2 things, i.e. the breath of the life plus the dust of the ground. Death is reversal of this equation. Before this equation a human being is non existent.
Death is a cessation of life. A complete unconscious state.  It must be clearly put that only God has immortality, not subject to death (1Tim 6 vs 16)
The Following Bible texts further strengthen the Bible position on the state of the dead.
Psa 146:4  His breath goes forth; he returns to the earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
Psa 115:17  The dead do not praise Jehovah, nor do any who go down into silence
Isa 38:18  For the grave cannot praise You, death can not rejoice in You; they who go down into the pit cannot hope for Your truth.
Job 14:12  so man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be awakened out of their sleep.
Job 14:20-21 You overpower him forever, and he passes; You change his face, and send him away. His sons come to honor, and he knows it not; they fall, but he does not mark it.
Eze 18:4  Behold, all souls are Mine. As the soul of the father, also the soul of the son, they are Mine. The soul that sins, it shall die.
Ecc 3:19-21  For that which happens to the sons of men also happens to beasts, even one thing happens to them. As this one dies, so that one dies; yea, they all have one breath; so that a man has no advantage over a beast; for all is vanity. All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all return to dust again.
Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward?
The question then should be; what happens when man dies? What really happens in the ngozi mystery? ghosts, tokoloshis, sandawanas, and all the spiritual manifestation in the realm of the dead, what is the real issues there?
All this comes from the devil's first lie recorded in the Bible when he beguiled Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit; he promised him immortality as a reward for her disobedience to God's explicit command Genesis 2vs 17 "but you shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." The devil countered God's word with a lie, Gen 3:4-5  "And the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat of it, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as God, knowing good and evil."
It must be remembered that the devil is a master deceiver Rev 12vs 9, John 8vs 44. He is on a warpath with humanity and deception is one of his chief weapons, and billions of people the world over have swallowed this lie hook line and sinker from since the beginning of time.
What the devil simply does is to impersonate the dead to perpetuate his lie. He uses his advantages over humanity to accomplish his purposes.  He was created an angel and he still is. Its only that now he has turned himself into a devil since his rebellion from heaven. (Check  Isaiah 14 vs 12 to 17 & Ezekiel 28 vs 12 to 17)
Angels can do a lot of things human beings cant. For example they can turn into fire or wind.
Ref Heb 1 vs 7, can come into our dreams ref Math 1vs 20, can cause animals to speak, ref Numbers 22vs 21- 32. Can posses animals and human beings alike, as they did to the demonic in Gadara and latter the herds of pigs ref Mark 5vs 1-15.  Angels can also take the form of human ref Heb 13 vs 2.
And the devil is employing all his tricks to augment his lie of close to six thousand years.
In the ngozi mystery, the devil and his angels employ all those advantages to deceive and people fall for it.
The devil's wish is to have people to worship him, and he will get worship by either trickery or force. Refer to Rev 13 vs 11-18
Now what with the ngozi happenings? Is there any redemption for the murder?  Dear people of God, true it is that the wages of sin, any sin be it murder, corruption, or adultery is death, but the Gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6 vs 23.
Heb 9:13-14  For if the blood of bulls and of goats and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ (who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God) purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Any one who has murdered has salvation only in Jesus Christ. His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness murder included (1John1 vs 7).  There is no sin that can not be pardoned by the blood of Jesus. He died to free us from the curse of the Law which is death. The same Jesus who pardoned Moses who murdered an Egyptian, David who killed Uriah, Saul who murdered a lot of Christians before his conversion and subsequent change of name to Paul, who also assisted those who murdered Steven the first Christian martyr; the same Jesus will pardon all modern day murders. They only need to repent of their sin accept His sacrifice and they are free from the guilt of bloodshed. Had Cain done the same he too could have been pardoned but he failed to acknowledge his guilt thus he remained in sin.
The blood of Abel that was crying represents a cry for justice which only God can render. Jesus never promoted an eye for an eye but He preached forgiveness for all faults including forgiving those who have murdered our loved ones.
(Now this can be deemed radical, but folks this is the crux of the whole Christian religion.) If we do not forgive, then the devil will take advantage of the situation to perpetuate his lie.
May I challenge Christians to study the Bible deeply and find the truth to free ourselves from fear caused by misunderstanding. (John 8vs 32 You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free)

I rest my case.
